Next meeting Wednesday, May 14, 6:30pm at Whole Wheat Radio - We will have shorter weekly meetings until the build.

$ update – Charlie reported a surprise donation of $5000 from BP. Yea! We still need about $9000 to complete our fundraising goal. The budget rose slightly because of site work estimates as well as shipping costs on materials being higher than anticipated. We will mail the insurance policy payment for the Talkeetna Community Council and it will go into effect May 16th.

Volunteers – We discussed at length the time line for May and the best game plan to contact volunteers. We are on a TIGHT schedule, need LOTS of help and we WILL make it happen! Routering and sealing of all the posts needs to happen ahead of time – scheduled right now is for May 29th and 30th. Saw horses will be made this weekend.

Donor wall – discussed if a company offered us materials “at cost” if we would put their name on the donor wall. A finalized list of names for plaques will be complied – discussed sizes.

Anita – Playground equipment is here!! There were some mistakes in the order that will have to be fixed.

Site Work – We have a signed contract from AK Excavating to build our driveway, parking lot and prepare the playground site. The road restrictions for trucking gravel are the biggest hurdle right now and completely out of our control. Concerns about the quality of the Beaver pit gravel were discussed.

We are still in need of 1000 feet of orange construction fencing to surround the work site.

We are looking for someone to head up organizing the ribbon cutting ceremony on Sunday June 8th.

There are lots of details at this point in the project and we are always looking for folks who can volunteer a little or a lot of time.
