In attendance: Laurel Vincent, Anita Golton, Nancy Juergens, Charlie Loeb, Karey Larson, Noelle Carbone and Elizabeth Tatera.
Financial Update:
Charlie reported that we have raised $44,356.40 to date. (When sending out Donation Letters, be sure to change to our current amount raised.)
The Kid’s Concert with Esther raised $400.00.
As an incentive to get Picket Donation Forms returned, all forms turned in by 2/9 will be enrolled in a raffle (prize to be determined). Raffle will take place at the Wine & Dessert Tasting & Auction on 2/9.
We have a deadline of 3/18 for selling all of the Pickets. Karey will see if that date can be extended. SELL PICKETS!
Public Relations:
Noelle will get an announcement on KTNA about the Picket Incentive Raffle. Once we have determined the prize.
Karey will ask Colleen Love to write up a story on the tiles from the Kid’s Concert for the Good Times.
Marne Gunderson has offered to help with any PR needed in Anchorage for the Wine Tasting event.
Anita will make posters.
Wine & Dessert Tasting & Auction:
Laurel and Christy Seay are organizing the event.
Laurel will come up with a volunteer sign up list of everything we need, please talk with her if you would like to help out. We are going to need quite a few people.
Elizabeth is in charge of auction items. She would like all items to her ASAP so that she can get organized before the day of the event. They can be dropped off for her at The Clinic; be sure to write her name on it. The list of donated items so far is looking good. We would like to focus on obtaining services/goods outside of Talkeetna. Elizabeth is following up on several inquiries in Wasilla and Anchorage.
Nancy is researching event insurance.
If anyone has any ideas for interesting auction items please contact Elizabeth.
Other Business:
40 beautiful tiles were created at the Kid’s Concert last weekend. Thank you Tasja! Check out the web site to see the photos www.talkeetnaplayground.org
Upcoming Playground events and opportunities to have more kids participate in creating tiles will be Art Week at the elementary school, Earth Day, and the Barn Dance fundraiser. Laurel will work on scheduling a time to have middle & high school kids make tiles since there is not an Art Week at Su Valley this year.
Next fundraiser to gear up for, after the 2/9 fundraiser, will be a Barn Dance (with soup & bread!).
Anita is making great progress with building material donations.
