In attendance: Laurel Vincente, Karey Larson, Anita Golton, Nancy Juergens, Lisa Shelby, Charlie Loeb.

Baby update: Greta & Barbara had their babies!! Both boys. Greta had baby Murray and Barbara had baby Hawken. Looking forward to seeing them play on the playground!

Financial update: Charlie reports that we have raised over $46,000.00 and have $28,000.00 in the bank. Mat-Su Regional is donating $1,000.00 to buy a bay of swings. Need to revisit the list of donors that Caitlin was in charge of organizing. We need to make sure contacts have been made and that volunteers are following up donation requests. Our fundraising effort continues to need our energy and we want to do it thoroughly. Nancy will ask Caitlin to check in with people to see how the contact list is being covered. Caitlin can check with Charlie for an updated version of the contact list. Please check the web page for the most up to date component list.

Design update: Charlie is working on site plan development with borough planners and DOT. We need to begin DOT driveway permit process ASAP. Laura Calliet will return soon and start working on permits. Leon Smith, Planet Earth Playscapes designer, will be Alaska 2/24 – 3/4. Planet Earth Playscapes’ components from their design plans are now available for sale and posted on our website.

Grants: No report or updated information has been forthcoming from Erica. Therefore we need to move ahead with contacting AK RR and CIRI for donations. Charlie will contact CIRI.

Fundraising Events:

Ski Race Jan. 19: Volunteer and information table will be set up at the Fairview. Amanda and Christy Seay will set up and work the table for skier sign-up, pre-race. Nancy will work and take down the table post-race. Charlie has the box of what we need for the table.

Barn Dance: John Brown, TKE Principal, is supportive of holding the dance at the school on a Friday night, which will help to keep our costs down. We are looking at dates in the beginning of April. Noelle is contacting the band.

Wine & Dessert Tasting and Silent Auction: February 9, from 7:00 – 10:00 pm at Whole Wheat Radio. Must be 21 years old to participate. Laurel is putting the Volunteer list “TO DO” list together. She will need help! Lisa will help Laurel come up with list of what needs to be done. We will be sending out an email in the next few days for signing up to help with this event stay tuned! Please let Laurel know if you would like to help out. 733-1250. Ticket prices are $18.00 in advance and $20.00 @ the door. Advance tickets will be sold at Talkeetna Travel. Anita is creating posters, website and newspaper advertising. Anita is organizing dessert donations. We have decided not to purchase advertising so we need to get the word out grass roots style. Please tell all your friends about this event. It is an easy way to help out by getting the word out. Talk it up!!! Laurel will also have posters that need to get distributed. We envision them being posted in Wasilla and Anchorage too so if you can help hang posters please contact Laurel. We can accommodate 70 people and would really like to sell out. Elizabeth is collecting and organizing auction items, the list is growing! The list of what we have so far is posted on the web page. All items will also be available on line through Whole Wheat Radio on the night of the auction. Big thanks to Nancy and Mike at the Fairview for securing the insurance! Also big thanks to our event sponsors Arctic Brewing Supply, Mountain Magic, and Wildflower Café. All the wines will be donated by Alaska Distributors.

Fence picket incentive prize will be $30.00 certificate for TitleWave Bookstore in Anchorage and $25.00 certificate to The Beartooth. Drawing will be held the night of the Wine & Dessert Tasting. Please spread the word!!!! Now is the time to purchase your fence pickets!!!!
